自从我读完了老人与海这本书后，我最大的感受就是桑提亚哥这种遇到困难不退缩，临危不惧、坚持不懈、勇敢面对、永不放弃的精神值得我们来学习。如果我们在生活中也遇到了困难，我们也不能轻易放弃，要勇于面对，敢于挑战，把困难给打倒。
另外，通过我的调查，老人与海是海明威的代表作，也是一部象征性的小说。这本书主要写了主人公桑提亚哥是一位老渔夫。他在连续八十四天没捕到鱼的情况下，终于独自钓到了一条大马林鱼，但这鱼实在太大了，把他的小船在海面上拖了三天三夜才筋疲力尽，被他杀死绑在了船的一边，但是在归程中却遇到了鲨鱼的袭击，最后回港时只剩下了鱼头、鱼尾和一根筋骨。

如果我是一名运动员，那么老人与海这个故事就是观众的掌声;如果我是一只小船，那么老人与海这个故事就是小船的发动机;现在我是一名小学生，那么老人与海这个故事就是让我努力学习的动力。
老人又黑又瘦，脖子上的皱纹如沟壑一般，向我诉说着岁月的沧桑无情。他的脸上长满了褐色的斑，那是长期在海上捕鱼，热带海洋上的太阳在脸上留下来的印记。褐斑从他脸的两侧一直延伸下去，他的双手因为一次又一次用绳索拉大鱼而留下了深深的伤疤。老人身上的一切都是那么沧桑，除了那双眼睛，它们像海水一样蓝，永远闪烁着喜悦而不服输的神情。这个老人就是渔夫桑迪亚哥。
桑迪亚哥靠打鱼为生，可是漫长的八十四天过去了，桑迪亚哥还是一条鱼也没钩到，但是不服输的他坚信明天一定能钩到大鱼。果然，在第八十五天里，桑迪亚哥收获了一条比他的小船还要大的鱼。可正当桑迪亚哥满载而归时，杀死大鱼的血却引来了鲨鱼，老人的大鱼被鲨鱼一点一点的吃掉，可他并不气馁，与鲨鱼顽强搏斗。最后，老人凭着坚强的意志，打败了鲨鱼，可是大鱼却被鲨鱼吃的只剩下一副骨架。
