英语演讲稿1

Thank you for your kindness, friends. Friends, this is not the speech I wanted to give today because I believe that Britain needed a Labour government. I still do, but the public voted otherwise last night. Earlier today, I rang David Cameron to congratulate him. I take absolute and total responsibility for the result and our defeat at this election.

I am so sorry for all of those colleagues who lost their seats. Ed Balls, Jim Murphy, MargaretCurran, Douglas Alexander, and all the MPs and indeed candidates who were defeated. They arefriends, colleagues, and standard bearers for our party. They always have been, and they alwayswill be.

I also want to congratulate all our candidates who were elected yesterday and who will helptake our party forward as well.

I want to thank those people who ran our campaign. It was the most united, cohesive, andenjoyable campaign I’ve ever been involved in. I want to thank Douglas Alexander, LucyPowell, Spencer Livermore, and most of all, all of you, the incredible team at the Labour Party.

And I also today want to thank the incredible team of Labour Party members, activists, and allthose people who’ve pounded the streets over the past months.

Friends: Britain needs a strong Labour Party. Britain needs a Labour Party that can rebuild afterthis defeat so we can have a government that stands up for working people again. And now it’stime for someone else to take forward the leadership of this party, so I’m tendering myresignation taking effect after this afternoon’s commemoration of VE Day at the Cenotaph. Iwant to do so straight away because the party needs to have an open and honest debate aboutthe right way forward without constraint.

Let me say that Harriet Harman is the best Deputy Leader that anyone could hope for. I workedfor her more than 20 years ago, I am proud to have had her as my deputy for my term ofleadership.

She will take over until a new leader is elected. For me, I’m looking forward to reacquaintingmyself with Justine, Daniel, and Sam. But before I do, I want to say a few things. First of all, thank you to the British people. Thank you to the people who’ve met me on train stations andcolleges, in workplaces and schools. Thank you for sharing your stories with me, I have learnt somuch for you.

It has been an enormous privilege. Thank you for the selfies, thank you for the support, andthank you for the most unlikely cult of the 21st century, Milifandom.

Second, I want to address those who voted Labour yesterday. Today you’ll feel disappointed, even bleak, but while we may have lost the election, the argument of our campaign will notgo away; the issue of our unequal country will not go away. This is the challenge of our time, the fight goes on, and whoever is our new leader, I know Labour will keep making the case for acountry that works for working people once again.

Third, I believe in our United Kingdom, not just because it is our country, but because it is thebest way of serving the working people of our country. You know, I believe that there is morethat unites us than divides us across the whole United Kingdom and all of us in the months andyears ahead must rise to the challenge of keeping our country together.

Finally, I want to say something to my party. Thank you to you. Thank you for the privilege. Ijoined this party at 17. I never dreamed I would lead it. It has been an incredible force forprogress from workers’ rights to the NHS to the minimum wage.

No other party in British politics can boast these achievements and yes, it will be a force forprogress and change once again. And to all the Labour party members, you’re the most loyal, supportive, amazing people, I thank all of you today. I am truly sorry I did not succeed. I havedone my best for nearly five years.

Now you need to show your responsibility. Your responsibility: not simply to mourn our defeatbut to pick yourself up and continue the fight. We’ve come back before and this party will comeback again.

And if I may, I say to everyone in our party: conduct this leadership election with the samedecency, civility, and comradeship that we believe is the way the country should be run.

I believe I have brought a culture to this party, an ability to have disagreement without beingdisagreeable. I urge everyone to keep this in mind in the months ahead.

Finally, I want to say this. The course of progress and social justice is never simple orstraightforward. Change happens because people don’t give up, they don’t take no for ananswer, they keep demanding change.

This is my faith: where we see injustice, we must tackle it. In a couple of hours I will no longerbe leading this party, but you see, for me, that has never been the only way to achievechange, because I believe it isn’t simply leaders who achieve change, it is people who makechange happen. I will never give up on that idea, I will never give up on that cause, I will nevergive up on fighting for the Britain I believe in.

That faith will always be my faith, that fight will always be my fight, that cause will always bemy cause – and I will always be there in that cause with all of you. Thank you very much.

President Jiang Zemin, Premier Li Peng, Distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen:

This important and special ceremony marks a moment of both change and continuity in Hong Kongs history. It marks, first of all, the restoration of Hong Kong to the Peoples Republic of China, under the terms of the Sino-British Joint Declaration of 1984, after more than 150 years of British administration.

This ceremony also celebrates continuity because, by that same treaty and the many subsequent agreements which have been made to implement its provisions, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region will have its own government, and retain its own society, its own economy and its own way of life. I should like to pay tribute this evening to those who turned the concept of "one country, two systems" into the Joint Declaration, and to the dedication and commitment of those who have worked so hard over the last thirteen years to negotiate the details of the Joint Declarations implementation. But most of all I should like to pay tribute to the people of Hong Kong themselves for all that they have achieved in the last century and a half. The triumphant success of Hong Kong demands - and deserves - to be maintained.

Hong Kong has shown the world how dynamism and stability can be defining characteristics of a successful society. These have together created a great economy which is the envy of the world. Hong Kong has shown the world how East and West can live and work together. As a flourishing commercial and cultural cross-roads, it has brought us together and enriched all our lives.

Thirteen years ago the Governments of the United Kingdom and the Peoples Republic of China recognised in the Joint Declaration that these special elements which had created the crucial conditions for Hong Kongs success should continue. They agreed that, in order to maintain that success, Hong Kong should have its own separate trading and financial systems, enjoy autonomy and an elected legislature, maintain its laws and liberties, and be run by the people of Hong Kong and be accountable to them. Those special elements have served Hong Kong well over the past two decades. Hong Kong has coped with the challenges of great economic, social and political transition with almost none of the disturbance and dislocation which in other parts of the world have so often accompanied change on such a scale.

The United Kingdom has been proud and privileged to have had responsibility for the people of Hong Kong, to have provided a framework of opportunity in which Hong Kong has so conspicuously succeeded, and to have been part of the success which the people of Hong Kong have made of their opportunities.

In a few moments, the United Kingdoms responsibilities will pass to the Peoples Republic of China. Hong Kong will thereby be restored to China and, within the framework of "one country, two systems", it will continue to have a strong identity of its own and be an important international partner for many countries in the world.

Ladies and Gentlemen, China will tonight take responsibility for a place and a people which matter greatly to us all. The solemn pledges made before the world in the 1984 Joint Declaration guarantee the continuity of Hong Kongs way of life. For its part the United Kingdom will maintain its unwavering support for the Joint Declaration. Our commitment and our strong links to Hong Kong will continue, and will, I am confident, flourish, as Hong Kong and its people themselves continue to flourish.

Distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen, I should like on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen and of the entire British people to express our thanks, admiration, affection, and good wishes to all the people of Hong Kong, who have been such staunch and special friends over so many generations. We shall not forget you, and we shall watch with the closest interest as you embark on this new era of your remarkable history.

Since ancient times,a tribute to the poetry of flowers did not cease, the plum blossom is the poet described the "regular", Liu Yuxi, the Dow had a lotus flower " Zhuo-Qing Lian without demon." Famous, more "next-day Bi endless days, for other red flowers reflected "the good reputation of being thousands of years, which reveal only the fresh, fragrant, blooming gorgeous it just for the purpose of decorating the world until the end of life at the moment, we still appreciate the beauty of its decline, flowers are beautiful, there is a spirit, it is a term of praise, is the soul of all the action clean, so please enjoy, on the extraordinary in the great!

Grass, is also the object of my praise, it low-key modest, it seems to grow every minute in silence, not as colorful flowers, and its existence is also another sense of the United States, I love grass, love its small green is for life, love its "not the phrase" but insist on silence. If you go to the park to enjoy, only to find beautiful flowers is simply not notice the grass, because grass is not aromatic may be thinner, do not appreciate the beautiful, sunny mood suddenly, full of vitality, but also a pleasant surprise, : grass also worthy of appreciation, because it is beautiful.

And me, ordinary, and never glory colorful, flowery as I am willing to use effort to let others smell fragrant, and I like the grass is willing to do the same, quietly pursuing, because it told me: "If we can not glamorous. Please modest efforts. "grass, sweet grass, I, I have learned, in the flat land of extraordinary, cautious and conscientious, if you like!

If the flowers and grass, in the ordinary in the great, give my life philosophy in life, and that trees and wood, have told me, what is tough.

Speaking of trees, the reverence felt my mind, it definitely did not like flowers, peaceful enjoyment of life, its growth, its tall, struggle with life after the owner, and the life of the trees are experiencing a disaster, all Datong tree so doomed, if to support, and to stand on, otherwise the life of the tree can be collapsed moment.

I do not have the resistance and life. But I do not desire to have the indomitable courage of the tree is a tree taught me that people such as the backbone must be straight as it encountered the same frustration fortitude it must be like, if to support, I have to stand up, otherwise, I success will fade away like smoke.

Modest efforts, perseverance, quietly pay, the wealth of my life from the flowers and trees around them, and they guide me to success, so I so lucky, so rich.

英语演讲稿4

My dear Mr. and Misses, my fellows schoolmates,

Good morning! As you know and see, it is a sunny bump harvest season. In the city, in our school campus, everywhere is surrounded with roses which we together planted 4 years ago. Today may these roses and our friendship as well be together and comfort our excited hearts!

It was four years ago that everyone of us came from every part of China and formed a new collective. As we are young, it’s very easy for us to communicate. It was in the past four years that we were ambitious. It was in the past four years that we worried. It was in the past four years that we were content. It was in the past four years that we were vexed. It was in the past four years that we were friendly and lonely ... and it was in the past fours that we studied, lived and respected each other with genuine and with our ambitions. Nothing in the world is more significant than we miss all of these.

We miss you─teachers who are tireless in teaching; we will keep your gestures and your white hairs in our hearts deeply; we will miss the quietness with the lights at night in the classroom; we will miss the race and exercise on the playground; we will miss even the crowds in the dining hall and the quarrel on the beds; we will still miss every green piece and every piece of waste paper flying like flakes in the air ... However, today we will leave nothing but the first rose with our Alma Mater and our teachers which is entrusted with our love and respect.

4 years seems very long but 4 years seems very short. From now on, we all will go into the society. The society is broad and wide for us. We will shoulder heavy responsibilities; we will work diligently; and we will expect to be informed of good news from one another. Now, I beg you all to cherish the occasion; to remember the names, the status, appearance and the character of the person around you. Now let’s be hand in hand together; let’s present the rose to each other. May the rose carry our appreciation and blessing! We are very closely linked no matter what the world may be. May the fresh rose in our hands keep its fragrants!

Thank you all again!

英语演讲稿5

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen.

The title of my speech today is "Crossing the Sea" . An English poet by the name of Rudyard Kipling once wrote in this poem "We and They" :

All the people like us are We

and everyone else is They

We live over the sea

While They live over the way

We eat pork and beef with cow horn-handled knives

They who gobble their rice off a leaf

Are horrified out of their lives.

When these lines first caught my eyes, I was shocked--how could two people remain so isolated and ignorant of each other in the past? Todays society, of course, is an entirely different picture. Those people who used to eat with gobble their rice might be as well have taken to fish and chips.

Indeed, just take China as example; Our modern life has been influenced by Western style of living in so many ways that its no longer surprising to see teenagers going crazy about rock-and-roll, whole families dining out at McDonalds and even rather elderly people dressed in Apple Jeans.

However, these are only some expressions of the cultural changes taking place in our society today. What is really going on is a subtle but significant restructuring of the nations mentality. Just look around.

How many college graduates are ready to compete aggressively for every job opportunity, whereas not long ago they were asked just to sit idle and wait for whatever was to be assigned to them by the government?

How many young people are now eager to seek for an independent life whereas only two decades ago they would rely totally on their parents to arrange for their future? Ask anyone who participates in todays speech contest. Who has not come with a will to fight and who has not come determined to achieve self-fulfillment in winning the game? And Im quite certain that if Confucius had lived to see todays China, he would have been horrified to see young lovers kissing each other in public places in an unreserved expression of their passion.

It is therefore evident that we as descendants of an ancient Eastern civilization are already living under strong influence of the Western culture. But it is not only in China that we find the incorporation of the two cultures.

Take the United States as an example: During the 1980s, in face of the overwhelming competition from Japan, many American companies such as the Ford began to adopt a teamwork management from their rivals, the essence of which, lay at the very core of Eastern culture.

Take the Chinese acupuncture as another example: This traditional treatment of diseases is finally finding its way to the West and hence the underlying notion that illness is resulted from the imbalance between yin and yang within the body--an idea which would strike any Westerner as incredible in the past!

Ladies and Gentlemen, we live in a great epoch when the global integration of economy and the information revolution have brought cultures of the world closer than ever before. We live in a particular era when countries, East and West, find themselves in need of readjusting their traditional values. We live, at the same time, at a critical juncture of our evolution because such problems as ethnic conflicts and regional unrest are increasingly posing a threat to the peace and happiness of the whole human race.To cope with such an era and to embrace an evenbrighter future, we need to learn to live more harmoniously in a world community which is becoming smaller and smaller. My dear fellow students, our command of the English language render sit possible for us to gain an insight into Western culture while retaining our own cultural identity.

Therefore, it is our sacred responsibility to promote the cultural exchanges and hence the mutual understanding between China and the rest of the world.

It is my happiest dream that new generation of Chinese will not only grow up drinking Coca cola and watching Hollywood, but also be blessed with the far-reaching benefits of multiple cultures; benefits that our forefathers had never, ever dreamed of.

To end my speech, I would like to quote Rudyard Kipling again:

All the people like us are We

And everyone else is They

But once you cross over the sea

You will end by looking on We

As only a sort of They.

Thank you.
