The peasant and the apple-tree
A Peasant had an Apple-tree growing in his garden, which bore no fruit, but merely served to provide a shelter from the heat for the sparrows and grasshoppers which sat and chirped in its branches. Disappointed at its barrenness he determined to cut it sparrows and the grasshoppers saw what he was about to do, they begged him to spare it, www.xiaogushi8.com and said to him, “If you destroy the tree we shall have to seek shelter elsewhere, and you will no longer have our merry chirping to enliven your work in the garden.” He ,however, refused to listen to them, and set to work with a will to inside and contained a swarm of bees and a large store of honey. Delighted with his find he threw down his axe, saying, “The old tree is worth keeping after all.”

农夫和苹果树
有一个农夫，他的园子里有一棵苹果树，这棵树并不茂盛，只能为麻雀和蝉提供一个可栖息的地方，让他们坐在枝桠上歇息和喋喋不休地 。农夫认为这棵树没有什么大用处，决定把它砍掉，于是便拿起斧头走过去砍起树来。然而，那些蝉和麻雀看到农夫的行为后，便请求农夫留下这棵树，并且对他说：“如果你砍掉这棵树，我们还得另外再找一个窝，而你也不会在园子里干活时听到我们为你鼓劲的欢快歌声了。”农夫没理睬他们，继续拿起斧头砍起这棵树，几斧下去之后，树上出现一个洞，他发现树洞里有蜂蜜和蜂巢。他高兴地连忙抛下斧头，说：“这棵树还真是值得保留下来。”

The assin the lion's skin
An Ass found a Lion's Skin, and dressed himself up in it. Then he went about frightening every one he met, for they all took him to be a lion, men and beasts alike, and took to their heels when they saw him coming. Elated by the success of his trick, he loudly brayed in triumph. The Fox heard him, and recognised www.xiaogushi8.com him at once for the Ass he was, and said to him, "Oho, my friend, it's you, is it? I, too, should have been afraid if I hadn't heard your voice."

一头驴发现了一张狮子的皮，于是就披到身上。他走出去吓唬其它动物，所有见到他的人和动物都把他当成狮子，吓得四处逃跑。驴见自己的诡计得逞了。兴奋地大叫起来。狐狸听到他的声音，立刻认出这是一头驴，于是就对他说：“哦，朋友，这才是真正的你，是吗?要不是听到了你的声音，我也被你吓着了。”突然一阵风刮来，把驴身上披着的狮子皮吹走了，驴子原形毕露。这时，动物们见此情形，又都跑回来，用木板和棍棒狠狠地打他。

Monkeys fishing month
One day,a little monkey is playing by the well.
He looks in the well and shouts :
“Oh!My god!The moon has fallen into the well!”
An older monkeys runs over, takes a look,and says,
“Goodness me!The moon is really in the water!”
And olderly monkey comes over.
He is very surprised as well and cries out:
“The moon is in the well.”
A group of monkeys run over to the well .
They look at the moon in the well and shout:
“The moon did fall into the well!Come on!Let’get it out!”
Then,the oldest monkey hangs on the tree up side down ,with his feet on the branch .
And he pulls the next monkey’s feet with his hands.
All the other monkeys follow his suit,
And they join each other one by one down to the moon in the well.
Just before they reach the moon,the oldest monkey raises his head and
happens to see the moon in the sky,
He yells excitedly “Don’t be so foolish!The moon is still in the sky!”

猴子捞月
一天，有只小猴子在井边玩儿。
它往井里一瞧，高喊道： 噢!我的天!月亮掉到井里头啦!
一只大猴子跑来一看，说，
“糟啦!月亮掉在井里头啦!” 老猴子也跑过来。
他也非常惊奇，喊道：
“糟了，月亮掉在井里头了!” 一群猴子跑到井边来，
他们看到井里的月亮，喊道：
月亮掉在井里头啦!快来!让我们把它捞起来
然后，老猴子倒挂在大树上， 拉住大猴子的脚，
其他的猴子一个个跟着， 它们一只连着一只直到井里。
它兴奋地大叫：“别蠢了!月亮还好好地挂在天上呢!”
正好他们摸到月亮的时候，老猴子抬头发现月亮挂在天上呢
